Biometric data are fingerprints, iris, retina – in other words physical, mental or behavioural feature which is unique and constant for each natural person. Genetic data is a unique and constant information on genetic heritage and/or DNA code of a data subject that makes it possible to identify this person.
Processing of biometric and genetic data is only admissible if it is necessary for:
● Performance of an organization’s activities, protection of security and property, also for the purpose of prevention of disclosure of classified information if achievement of these purposes by other means is impossible or requires unreasonable efforts;
You must advise the Data Protection Inspector about processing of biometric data in advance and submit the following:
• Information provided to the data subject;
• Reason for processing data;
• Data protection safeguards;
