Obligation of Electronic Communication Companies to Notify

According to Article 82 of the Law of Georgia on “Electronic Communications” and Article 20 of the Law of Georgia on “Personal Data Protection”, electronic communication companies have an obligation to record the facts of transferring electronic communications identification data to law-enforcement bodies and notify the Personal Data Protection Service about the transfer within 24 hours (when the transfer is not carried out via technical means of real-time transfer of information).

Submission of information to the Personal Data Protection Service should be carried out via classified correspondence in a written form or via electronic carriers. The Office receives correspondence every day, 24 hours a week.
